About Lily.

The long version, because you clicked on this page voluntarily.

You know when you're trying to cook something and the recipe begins with ten pages about the author's childhood, their grandmother and a transformative summer spent picking lemons in the countryside?

I have generously put my life story on a completely separate page.

You're welcome.

If you'd rather get straight into baking the cake — or, in this case, booking an appointment — you are under absolutely no obligation to continue.

Still here?

Perfect.

Hi, I’m Lily.

I'm a clinical Naturopath, CrossFit coach, lifelong sport enthusiast, passionate question-asker and owner of a kelpie-cross named Goose.

I hold a Bachelor of Health Science specialising in Naturopathy and a Master of Naturopathic Medicine.

I also hold my CrossFit Level 1 and a Certificate III in Outdoor Education and Recreational Activities.

Which admittedly sounds like I selected my qualifications by spinning a wheel.

But there is a thread connecting all of it.

I've always been fascinated by what the human body can do — how we fuel it, move it, challenge it, heal it and live inside it.

And, eventually, what happens when it starts asking us very loudly to pay attention.

I Grew Up Moving.

Sport has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Basketball, netball, Little Athletics, an extremely short stint at ballet, running, water skiing, surfing, snowboarding, horse riding - you name it, I did it.

I've played sport, trained, worked in active environments and eventually found CrossFit and weightlifting — two things that gave me an entirely new appreciation for the body's capacity to adapt.

I later became a CrossFit coach, and coaching has shaped the way I practise naturopathy more than you might expect.

It teaches you very quickly that two people can be given the exact same task and require completely different pathways to get there.

It teaches you to meet someone where they are.

It teaches you that progress isn't linear.

It teaches you that people are capable of much more when they understand why they're doing something rather than blindly following instructions.

That's healthcare too.

And Then My Body Had Other Ideas.

In my early twenties, I was exhausted.

Not I stayed up too late scrolling TikTok tired.

Properly exhausted.

Admittedly, I wasn't exactly providing my nervous system with calm conditions.

I was studying full-time, working more than 30 hours a week and training religiously in CrossFit and weightlifting.

I remember thinking:

You used to be fun. You used to stay out until 5 am with your friends. You're twenty-something years old — if you're already this tired, how are you going to survive the rest of your life?

Was it chronic fatigue?

Was I lazy?

Was everyone secretly living like this and just pretending they were fine?

At the same time, my stress levels were through the roof and I was experiencing frequent panic attacks.

I kept trying to push through it because exhaustion, anxiety and dysregulation had somehow become things I thought I just needed to be better at tolerating.

Eventually my health investigations led to a diagnosis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune thyroid condition.

And the more I learned about my own health, the more interested I became in the relationship between physiology, nutrition, stress, the nervous system, hormones, immune function, lifestyle and the environment we ask our bodies to function within.

There wasn't one villain.

There wasn't one magic cure.

There was a whole picture.

That lesson now forms a huge part of how I work with my own clients.

“It’s Just Your Iron”

Like a lot of people with ongoing symptoms, I also know what it's like to leave an appointment feeling as though the thing disrupting your entire life has been reduced to a single line on a pathology report.

That experience isn't why I reject conventional medicine.

I don't.

It's why I value good investigation and collaborative healthcare.

Sometimes the answer is iron.

Sometimes iron is one clue among twelve.

Sometimes everything on paper looks ordinary and you still know you don't feel like yourself.

I want my clients to have somewhere they can bring the whole story.

My First “Naturopath” Was Probably My Mum.

Long before I knew what naturopathy was, my mum was already teaching me about food, where it came from and why quality mattered.

She was, arguably, an OG almond mum.

She'd send me to school with ham and salad wraps. Alfalfa and all.

I would promptly trade them with my friend Julia for a Nutella sandwich.

Sorry Mum.

We later worked together in her shop — together being used quite generously here — and that early exposure to organic food, health and small business undoubtedly planted a seed.

Did I appreciate the ham and salad wrap at the time?

No.

Did she eventually win?

Unfortunately, yes.

Why Naturopathy?

Because I think people deserve to understand their own health.

You should know what your thyroid does.

You should understand why iron matters.

You should know what the medication or supplement you're taking is supposed to achieve.

You should be able to ask questions.

And you should be involved in decisions about your own body.

I love herbal medicine.

I love nutritional biochemistry.

I love pathology.

I love when someone finally sees the connection between three symptoms they thought were completely unrelated.

I love having enough time in a consultation to ask the second question.

And then the third.

And the strange fourth question that ends up being unexpectedly important.

My Areas Of Particular Interest.

Thyroid + Autoimmune Health

My own experience with Hashimoto's made thyroid health an early area of fascination for me.

I particularly enjoy looking at the wider picture surrounding thyroid presentations — nutrient status, energy, stress, metabolic health, gut health, reproductive hormones and the many systems that can influence how someone feels.

Fertility + Preconception

Preconception care is one of the most powerful opportunities we have to be proactive about health.

I love working with people before pregnancy — looking at nutrition, pathology, menstrual health, sperm and egg health, lifestyle factors and building a strong foundation for what comes next.

Mental Health + ADHD

Mental health is not separate from physical health.

Sleep matters.

Blood glucose matters.

Iron matters.

Thyroid function matters.

Stress physiology matters.

Community matters.

Medication matters.

Nutrition matters.

And sometimes herbal medicine can be a beautiful adjunct.

My interest in this area comes from both clinical training and lived experience, and I approach it with respect for the fact that mental health support often works best as part of a collaborative team.

Sports Performance

I love working with active humans.

Not only elite athletes.

Runners. CrossFitters. Surfers. Weightlifters. Weekend competitors. People training for something. People who simply really like moving their bodies.

Performance shouldn't require you to destroy your health.

I am interested in helping people train hard while supporting adequate energy availability, recovery, sleep, hormonal health, digestive function, nutrient status and longevity.

Your body is not a disposable vehicle for your next PB.

So, Why Sol?

Because the philosophy behind Sol is bigger than symptom management.

I want you to be able to live in your body for a very long time and actually enjoy being there.

Health isn't about creating the most perfectly optimised person on earth.

It is about resilience.

Capacity.

Energy.

Trust.

Freedom.

Being able to go travelling.

Lift something heavy.

Have dinner with your friends.

Build a family if you want one.

Surf until you're old and wrinkly.

Recover when life inevitably gets stressful.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal is a body and a life with enough room in them to actually live.

Important Team Member.

Goose is a certified kelpie × goodest boi.

His official role at Sol remains under review.

His self-appointed responsibilities currently include:

  • Greeting clients

  • Occupying an unreasonable amount of floor space

  • Attempting to become a lap dog

  • Maintaining morale

Depending on the location and day, you may encounter him during an in-person consultation.

Please tell me beforehand if you're allergic to dogs, frightened of dogs or would simply prefer a dog-free consultation.

He will be sent on his smoko.

He understands.
