FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that looks at the bigger picture of your health rather than focusing on one symptom in isolation.
Depending on your presentation, treatment may involve nutrition, herbal medicine, supplementation, lifestyle support and further testing where appropriate.
My approach is evidence-informed, individualised and designed to work alongside your existing healthcare.
-
Naturopathic care can support a wide range of health concerns, including digestive health, hormones, energy, stress, sleep, skin, metabolic health, immune function, nutrient deficiencies and general wellbeing.
You also don’t need to have a specific diagnosis to book. If something feels off, we can start by looking at what may be contributing.
-
Yes.
All new clients begin with an Initial Consultation so I can properly understand your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, diet, medications, supplements and treatment goals.
This allows us to build a treatment plan that is actually personalised to you rather than jumping straight into recommendations without enough context.
-
A standard Follow-Up is 25–30 minutes and is suitable for most ongoing appointments.
An Extended Review is 45–50 minutes and may be more appropriate if we need to review multiple concerns, discuss significant changes, go through complex test results or make more comprehensive adjustments to your treatment plan.
If you’re unsure which one to book, you’re welcome to get in touch.
-
Yes.
Telehealth appointments are available Australia-wide, allowing you to receive naturopathic care from home.
In-person consultations are also available on the Gold Coast.
-
It depends entirely on what we’re working on.
Some people benefit from more regular support initially, while others may only need occasional reviews.
We’ll decide together based on your progress, treatment goals and what is clinically appropriate rather than booking appointments simply for the sake of it.
-
If you have recent pathology, specialist letters, imaging, functional testing or any other relevant results, please bring them or upload them before your appointment where possible.
They can provide useful context and may help prevent unnecessary repeat testing.
-
Yes, where clinically appropriate.
Functional testing may be considered when it is likely to provide useful information that will meaningfully influence treatment.
Testing is not recommended automatically, and I won’t suggest expensive investigations unless there is a clear reason for doing so.
-
Not necessarily.
Supplements and herbal medicines may be recommended when appropriate, but they are only one part of naturopathic care.
Diet, lifestyle, sleep, stress, movement and other factors may form a significant part of your treatment plan.
Any recommendations will be tailored to you, your goals and your budget.
-
Absolutely.
Naturopathic care is designed to work alongside conventional medicine, not replace it.
I strongly encourage clients to maintain appropriate care with their GP and any relevant specialists, and referrals may be recommended where necessary.
